Inspiring Female Leadership for the Global Goals
Co-hosts: Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens, Austrian Cultural Forum New York
The high-level panel discussion brought together high-level women leaders from government, the private sector, philanthropy, and academia to share their insights on the role and contribution of women to the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) amidst present global challenges. The guest of honor for the evening was H.E. Karoline Edtstadler, Austrian Federal Minister for the EU and Constitution.
Beyond Green Jobs: Creating a Just Transition through Global Citizenship Education
Co-hosts: Mission 4.7, Bridge 47, Centre for Sustainable Development at Columbia University
Policymakers and civil society advocates agree that a Just Transition is needed to ensure that efforts to 'green' the economy are as fair and inclusive as possible, leaving no one behind. This roundtable discussion takes this dialogue beyond job training into holistic life-skills needed by communities and society at large for a just and peaceful planet,. Dialogue highlights successful strategies for ensuring that the most marginalized are included in plans for a global Just Transition, as well as what is needed to achieve SDG target 4.7 by 2030.
